Ductless Heating & Mini-Split Heat in Springdale, AR
One room stays cold while the thermostat says the house is warm. A mini-split heats that room on its own, without a single new duct.
Chapter 01
When one room never catches up
You know the room. The furnace runs, the hallway is toasty, and the back bedroom still needs a blanket and a space heater. Usually the cause is not a broken furnace. It is a room at the far end of a long duct run, over a cold garage, or added to the house after the heating system was already in place.
Pushing the furnace harder to reach that room overheats everything else. Extending the ductwork can mean opening walls and ceilings for one room. A ductless mini-split sidesteps both: an indoor head warms only the space it sits in, with refrigerant lines run through a small opening in the exterior wall.
The same fix works for a finished basement, a sunroom, or a shop that never had heat at all.

A mini-split next to your furnace or heat pump
Ductless heat does not have to replace anything. In most Northwest Arkansas homes it sits alongside the existing furnace or heat pump and takes over the one zone that system handles badly. The main system keeps doing what it does well, and the mini-split carries the problem room.
Sizing is where the work is. We size the head to the room's walls, windows and exposure, not to a number on the box. An oversized head short cycles and leaves cold corners, and an undersized one runs flat out on the first freeze. Placement matters too, since the head wants an open path for air across the room and a short, tidy route to the outside unit.

Chapter 03
What to watch as winter settles in
Before the first cold snap, wash the filter behind the head's front panel and clear leaves and debris from around the outdoor unit. A mini-split in heat mode can frost over its outdoor coil and run a defrost cycle now and then, which is normal. Ice that stays, a unit that blows cool air in heat mode, or a smell when it starts up is not.
We repair, replace and maintain ductless heating systems for homes and businesses in Benton and Washington counties, and a heating call at night gets answered. Catching a small fault in October is a short visit. Catching it in January is a long, cold night.
